Kids And Dogs
The best dog for kids is a dog that has been trained by kids. Kids and dogs make great teams together with proper guidance. The problem with some kids and dogs is that the dogs sees kids as members of their packs, but not pack leaders.

Carol Armstrong was 8 years-old when she trained her first dog and obtained a title with her dog when she was 9 years-old, through the American Kennel Club's Obedience program. At The Inner Dog, we believe that kids are capable of training their own dogs, with proper supervision and education.
To help ensure your child’s safety around dogs, we have developed techniques aimed specifically at kid and dog teams. All kid and dog teams learn:

• How to establish pack leader status safely
• How to safely approach an unknown dog with its owner
• How to be safe when an unknown dog approaches.

C.G.C Training
The Canine Good Citizen title is awarded to dogs that have passed a basic test ensuring that they are good citizens of their community. The American Kennel Club awards this title. Testing is pass or fail, and takes about 10 minutes to complete. Many property owners are using the C.G.C as a prerequisite to renting with a dog.

• Accepting a friendly stranger
• Sitting politely for petting
• Appearance and grooming
• Out for a walk (walking on a loose lead)
• Walking through a crowd
• Sit and down on command and Staying in place
• Coming when called
• Reaction to another dog
• Reaction to distraction
• Supervised separation

Therapy Dog Training
This is a wonderful way to give back to your community. Together, you and your dog will visit patients in hospitals, including children hospitals. Your visits will mean a lot to those that are not able to get out within their community. Passing the C.G.C test and a temperament test is the first step in the process.
Without C.G.C. $650 (includes all the C.G.C training above and cost of C.G.C discounted with this package).

Aggression Management
Does your dog display aggressive behavior that makes your fearful to take your dog for walks or have your dog around people? We can help you manage dogs that display aggression towards people or other animals. $150/hr

Online Dog Training

Try The Inner Dog’s Virtual Dog program. For a predetermined amount of time, we will work with you and your dog via the Internet.
With video from a digital camera, video camera, or cell phone, we can observe you and your dog and guide the two of you into an awesome team. Help is only a mouse click away.
